With 7 outstanding nominations for this prestigious award, Steph Trzcinski has been voted by the IGSSA Sports Coordinators as the 2013 IGSSA Sportsperson of the Year. Steph has had a remarkable 12 months of competition in her main sport of Softball, culminating in her pitching for Australia’s Under 19 Bronze Medal winning team at the World Championships in Toronto, Canada. Steph has participated strongly in IGSSA sport, not just in her pet sport of Softball, but Athletics and Netball also. Steph beat a strong field of nominations, in a very close count.

Other nominations in 2013 were:

  • Stephanie Chan (Pembroke – Badminton)
  • Lucy Armfield (Immanuel – Netball)
  • Izzi Batt-Doyle (Seymour – Athletics)
  • Millie Basedow (Walford – Netball)
  • Jacqui Beal (Westminster – Softball)
  • Georgina Clarnette (Wilderness – Swimming)

IGSSA Life membership has grown to 40 people, with the induction of 2 more people at this year's IGSSA Presentation Dinner. These 2 individuals collectively have provided over 35 years of service to Independent Girls school sport in South Australia, and are very worthy recipients of this prestigious honour. This year's inductees are: Rosemary Abbott (Pembroke) and Steve Sparrow (Scotch).
